Sengoku Majin GoShogun (戦国魔神ゴーショーグン) was a super robot animation series produced in 1981 and aired in 1982 in Japan. It was also know as "Macron 1".
One of the coolest robots around with a good anime to go along, heres a highly recommended Gokin from the Brave Gokin series by CM corporation. Though its yen price is 12 800 yen, the quality makes up for the price.
Though its smaller in size compared to other chogokins, its metal content is good!! Legs and feet, upper and lower body, basically almost 90% diecast.....wat a sweet robo!!
Besides being fairly heavy, its has loads of accessories eg, a sword, 2 axes, goflasher that shoots and a base for Tri-3 ( the ninja like mini robo that goes into Goshogun) and guess what Tri-3 transforms...
The chest and legs open-up to fit Tri-3
And a good amount of articulation too, i'll say it again this is one is not to be missed..
This baby is so sweet I even custom-made him a stand...... This is one gokin I highly recommend unless you're not a big fan of the animation.....oh well, to each his own or should I say to each his Goshogun!
Space Warrior Baldios or Uchu Senshi Baldios, a super robot animation series by Ashi Productions with its full length feature film produced by Toei in 1981, which has a strong environmental theme. Another old animation with a really cool ending and mecha.
And no its not another Gundam anime.....though he looks like one and many misconceptions due to the design of the face, maybe the designers were from Gundam.
Anyways, here's the main robot driven by Marin and the Blue-fixer team. Cm corporation Brave Gokin #19 Baldios!!!
Shown here is the regular version (12 100 yen), there's also a limited (500 pcs) Anime coloured version. Packed in classic styrofoam and not the bigger kinda of chogokins, Baldios has other factors that offsets its size.....
Baldios is mainly diecast and has minimal plastic... accessories includes 2 Pulsar Sabers, Baldishield, Silver chrome Bow gun, 2 shoulder cannons, 2 extensions for the sabers and the threadwheels.
Most chogokins has additional fists for posing, Baldios has non but in-turn featured poseable hands with trigger finger on both hands though he doesn't hold his swords and shield very well.
Baldios transforms into 3 vehicles, PulsarBurn ship piloted by the main character Marin Regan forms the main body, arms and head.
Space craft Baldiprise piloted by Jack Oliver forms the right leg and feet.
Cutter ranger driven by Raita Hokuto forms the left leg and feet is a land vehicle that also has the ability to fly..though it has threadwheels, there's also an added real working ones that attaches to it.
I just love Baldios though it has a kinda hefty price of 12 100 yen for a 20 cm robot, you can get a much bigger Bandai SOC robots eg, Voltes V or Zambot 3, at around that price but Baldios does has its perks, though with the lack of artculation, the transformation is breath-taking and one of a kind, another work of art by CM corp.......
BALDIOS!!!! CHARGE UP!!!!
Planetary Robo Danguard Ace (惑星ロボ ダンガードA(エース) Another vintage anime with a fighter pilot Winstar and his transformable Danguard Ace battleship do battle against evil alien invaders.
One of my fave childhood animations, Ive been waiting for this bot for quite awhile,
finally a updated version of the classic....I will gladly suffer months of instant noodles for this bot!!!
The Feel is great! Its quite a heavy gokin with loads of diecast and real good anime accurate head sculpt...
Transformation is split into 2 parts just like the actual anime....
Theres also a stand for the satelizer mode, the feet that form the thrusters just look damn cool.
Note that the screws are covered with small plastic tabs, thats one flawless feature for chogokins...
There are lotsa accessories, extra fists, missiles and loads of other stuff. The articulations is not bad as well, for such a bulky bot, ball jointed upper thighs, knees, ankles, waist, ball jointed neck to head, ball-jointed wraists, elbows....this is as close as it can get to Danguard Ace....
Finally in, Cm Corps Brave Gokin BR-01 King of Braves Gaogaigar, though not a new toy, released in 2006, I got rid on my takara version and replaced it with this version. Though there's lotsa nicer versions managed to get this piece at a sale price....
And after opening, the styrofoam trays!!!
Similar in transformation, nicer sculp with more poseabilty though not as sturdy as the takara ones. Gaigar has diecast parts and more accesories than the earlier counterpart. Let's have a look at the Gao Machines...
Gaogar, forms the main body and transforms into Galeon.
Stealth fighter jet Stealthgao forms the backpack, fists and head of Gaogaigar.
Liner Gao, a rail train forms the shoulders and arms.
Drillgao, twin drill tank forms the legs.
When combined, Gaogar and the gao-machines forms Gaogaigar....
Protect Shade, round transparent disc fits into an additional open fist, replace the normal fist.
Dividing Driver, fits into the fists holes, nicely detailed with a chrome tip.
Do take note, theres one major flaw, when transforming the Gaomachines back, removing Gaodrill from Gaogars legs, the legs will tend to snap off that is one bad news for those who didnt know beforehand, to solve it, unscrew the legs, and loosen the springs for the leg pegs, hope this helps.....anyways, CMS released a renewal version for the diehard fans...
CHECK OUT THE ANIMATION TOO!!!
