Yamanaya Bat Seijin

Another Sunday has passed and I finally found another Yamanaya figure. Luckily not a pricey one but still nice piece of vinyl.

From the return of Ultraman aka Ultraman Jack, here's the alien who sought to destroy mankind with his resurrected zetton, Bat seijin.

A 2001 released figure with 2 color variations, I'm satisfied with this orangey version. The other variation is more of a darker shade and molded in brownish purple vinyl which is slightly more accurate to the show.

Here's how Bat Seijin looks in the show.

Yamanaya figures all came with the same generic blue header card with illustration of some fantasy monsters.

Stands roughly 9" tall with 4 points of articulation, the arms and swivels at the thighs.
Sculpt work is definitly good and the paintjob is excellent.

Definitely hunting down more Ultraman Jack monsters, hope you guys enjoy my collection so far!

The Vinyls

Though I love diecast robots, I do love vinyl figures too, since I started collecting Vinyl Monsters from the classic Ultraman series, I started to look for Vinyl Figures from the super robot lines too. Unlike the Ultra-kaijus, Bullmarks, Marmits and Yamanaya has a standard size examples 9 Inch vinyls, and catering to every Ultra-series. But for Mazinger Z and other super robots, the sizes varies from Jumbo( 15 inches or bigger) to gashapon sizes.
I would prefer a standard size like my kaijus.....

Recently picked this guy up, 4 inch vinyl figure of Gyakuten-Oh (逆転王), He comes from the animated series Time Bokan Series Sudden Change Ippatsuman (タイムボカンシリーズ逆転イッパツマン) that aired in Japan from 1982-1983. Well, I may still consider getting the Brave Gokin by CM corp too..

Just in case, I collected vinyls first before I collected robots, here's some of my pics from my collection.

Yamanaya Hyperhobby Cyber-Pandon

One of my fave monsters from another Ultraman series ( I think im gonna use this line very often)
Appearing from Ultraseven series Episodes #48 & #49..
The twin headed bird monster named Pandon パンドン.

A hyperhobby magazine mailaway, made by Yamanaya KaijuBox, this standard sized 9" Cyber Pandon holds the eye slugger on his right hand.
Yamanaya also released a Normal Pandon and a Ultraseven without the eyeslugger attached.

DSC03359 DSC03360 Controlled by the evil Ghost Seijins, the monster stands around 40 Meters tall and weighing around 15,000 Tons.
Design was kinda lingering in my mind, 2 beaks, 1 head
and lotsa horns to boot ( yep insert your horny jokes here )
In the episode, Pandon was a powerful opponent giving
Ultraseven a tough time. One of the few monster who disarmed Ultrasevens Eye Slugger from him.
The TDF squad used their planes and distracted Pandon,
allowing the Ultraseven to retrieve the Eye Slugger and use his boomerang attack
slicing off Pandon's left arm and right leg.

In episode #49, the Ghost Seijins repaired and modified Pandon and deployed him once again.
The result was much the same, Pandon pummeling Ultraseven until TDF once again came to his aid.

DSC03367 DSC03370
Ultraseven tried his Eye Slugger again but Pandon managed to catch it and tried to use it against him
Ultraseven however controlled the eye slugger back to send it back and simultaneously decapitate Pandon's head, killing him and yes, sometimes 2 heads is not better than 1...lol...

The Light monster...

Another one of those obscure monster from the classic Ultraman series, Keera or Kira or Kiira or Kirla from Episode #38 The Spaceship Rescue Command ( 宇宙船救助命令 ) .
Pictured here is a Yamanaya KaijuBox Keera ( Black Version ), standard 9" tall and made of vinyl.

Brief info of the episode, the Science Patrol takes to the stars and learns that a missing piece of equipment could cause Space Station V2 to explode. After determining that the closest replacement is on a nearby planet, the Science Patrol makes an attempt to retrieve it..only to encounter a pair of ferocious monsters in their path. Keera and Saigo...

Alien Kemur

DSC03252 DSC03253
DSC03254
This Bare Model figure was a mail away offer from Hyper Hobby Magazine released in 2000, stands around thirteen inches tall and came with
a ferris wheel & mini-kemur seijin just like in classic UltraQ scene.

 DSC03255
The mysterious Kemur Seijin ( ケムール人 ) or Kemurujin or Kemur-being, first appeared on the screen in 1966's UltraQ ( ウルトラQ )series, this alien had one of the most weird but cool designs, especially the head, with 3 eyes, 2 infront and 1 behind, one of my favourites though.....

DSC03250 DSC03251
Here is a Purple Marmit standard sized Kemur Seijin, kinda nice colour scheme and with the straight standing pose perfect for displaying with your Yamanaya Ultras.

Kemur also made a very brief appearance in 1967’s Ultraman Episode #33 “The Forbidden World”,after being summoned by the evil Mephilas Seijin...
Though Kemur II was on screen for about 2 seconds the first time iwe ever see him in color

For Ultraman’s final episode Episode #39 ” Farewell Ultraman” ,
apparently the producers decided to bring Kemur Seijin back renamed as Zton Seijin (the very alien controlling Zton) and not as a Giant Alien terrorizing the cities, he's back as a sabotuer alien disguised as human being and when the ultra-team found out, we get to see Kemur Seijin's head in a suit running away.

whats a Kanegon?

カネゴン

Kanegon ( カネゴン ), one of the most popular  kaiju from the vintage 1966's tokusatsu TV series Ultra Q ( ウルトラQ ) Kanegon appeared in Episodes #15 Kanegon's Cocoon. Here's a standard sized 9" Yamanaya Kaiju Box Kanegon Vinyl figure.
DSC03458 DSC03459
The story is bizarre and surreal with some good lessons in life. A giant monster who has large clam-shaped purse head with zippered mouth and loves to eat coins. Kanegon stands 2 meters in height and weighs 200kgs, this monster didn't become a giant and smashed cities.
DSC03460 DSC03461
The story revolves a small boy who doesn't save money, oneday wakes up as Kanegon and has to eat coins to survive. Making him more thrifty after the ordeal. Though he assume everything was ok, he then realised his parents also became kanegons....
DSC03462 DSC03455
Kanegon's not the coolest monster around but he's easily the most iconic and famous monster in Japan tokusatsu history.
