DC Superheroes Silver Age Batman

Another one of my all-time favorite superheroes, Batman, the greatest detective of all time. Although, Batman has no superhuman powers, the character captured me since I was kid growing up.
Released by Hasbro in 1999, Batman was a Target exclusive, poseability is very good, with the classic blue themed clothed costume. Batman came with a removeable cowl though the mask didn't fit very well on the figures head, I still dig the retro feeling it gave me.

Not much difference in body used from the DC superheroes series, same points of articulation,
The sad news, no accesories, Batarang or anything for Batman to hold. Well, I guess we have to customize him ourselves and let our imaginations roll.

I do have the Guardian of Gotham city Batman too, I just cant find the box to take pictures, well, I guess that will be another post for another time.

MEAN LEAN GREEN MACHINE

Hello once more, superhero fans!!! With a mean temper and green's your colour, this action figure is for you, from the Marvel Select line by Diamond Select, here's the Hulk, the Incredible Hulk! and one of the best Hulk's around, sculpted by Gabriel Marquez, this is sweet figure to pickup.
Packaging is the carded with a big blister with a hefty weight, felt good when I first held it in my hands, I knew i have to have it.....

It's awesome straight out of the packaging, standing roughly 9 inches tall, looks great in my Marvels famous cover collection, though the famous covers line has released an Incredible Hulk, this version is definitely a better choice. Well, Hulk has always been a behemoth, the famous covers version didn't do it justice. Unlike it's counterpart, there's no cloth costume but a rubbery material on the tattered pants.

The sculpt on the face is a more aggresive clinched teeth face-sculpt, now thats temper for you,  the veins on the body are very realistic and not over doing it. The paint is abit sloppy, mine has way more green on certain parts but overall, very porpotionate and excellently sculpted.

The figure came with a display base, a damaged concrete slab, though it was just a thin piece of plastic, Hulk is sturdy and stands firmly on his own.
The bad new of figure, though boosting 14 points of articulation, Hulk is limited to a few decent poses. Other then that, this giant will be rampaging in any collection.

Marvel Select has done a good one on the jade giant. Besides the size, sculpt and details, the price is not too bad too. Most comic shops do carry this giant. This is one solid display piece for any collection, hunt him or be hunted!!!

GET HULK!! OR HULK SMAAASSHHHH!!

Dc Superheroes Silver Age Green Arrow

Oh look its Robbin'Hood, the prince of thieves, no wait, its not, Its the Green Arrow!!!

The Green Arrow first appeared in More Fun Comics #73 in 1941, till now, he has graced the DC universe ever since, appearing in a number of cameos. His secret identity is Oliver Queen, billionaire playboy and former mayor of Star City, Leader of Team arrow and member of the Justice league.
Dressed like Robin Hood, Green Arrow is an excellent archer, who invents trick arrows with various special functions, such as a glue arrow, a net arrow, explosive arrow, time bomb arrow, grappling arrow, fire extinguishing arrow, flash arrow, tear gas arrow and my personal fave the boxing-glove arrow.
Pictured is the Silverage version, though I prefer the Modern day Goaty version but anyways, this is one sweet figure, though the fists don't really hold the bow very well, he still has a few nice poses.
Too bad, this figure only comes with 3 arrows, no trick arrows, all and all, a nice representation of the old school version of Green Arrow, a must have for all Green Arrow fans.
Stay tune for more from the series.....

Dc Superheroes Silver Age Aquaman

From the DC Superheroes Silverage collection released in 1998, the king of the seas, Orin or well known Aquaman, here's a comparison with the DC Retroaction Aquaman.

The figure is great, the headsculpt is dynamic and captures the silverage style. The body is the standard 9 inch Hasbro body which I love more then the Toybiz Famous covers bodies. Speaking of Famous covers, most of the suits on Famous covers figures has the same problems due to time, as for Aquaman, his Suit has the same problems, the orange coating flakes off and tends to be sticky and when posing orange powder tend comes off.

Noticed the colour of my Aquaman, I washed off all the orange coating.

Here's the original orange suit for comparison.

Though Its quite disappointing to have the suit flaking off, after washing it off, what's left is very light orange or should I say biege suit, the scales are still visible and the orange thread lines.

All in all still a great representation of Aquaman, besides the suit, everything else is cool about this figure. It was very ironic, that Aquaman really needed water after so long. Im still smiling and not at all disappointed.....
The Tridents from the DC retroaction Aquaman Figure. Yup, all that's missing is rubber sea creatures.....

Yamato BoxinBox Super Heroes collection

Yamato released old school versions of our Marvel heroes in retro style window boxes. Just like Gashapons, purchasing them is pure random luck, besides the inner display box, they all came in a sealed outer box hence the name BoxinBox. Luckily, theres a shop down here selling them in a full set.

The figures all come unassembled, assembling them, much like other vinyls, you will need a hair dryer or hot water to soften the vinyl to fit the parts in,

The figures are 4 inch tall with basic articulation, heads, arms and waist. The sculpt is classic retro much like superpowers. They have that great vinyl feel to them and just look like pocket heroes from the past.
The Thing
Doctor Doom

Spiderman

Captain America
Ironman

SilverSurfer

Set includes Captain America, Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the Thing. Chase Figures: Ironman (Metalic) SilverSurfer(Mat grey)

The box display is just retro-styled and looks very nice in any collection. If nostalgic retro action figures are your thing, this set is highly recommended.
