Power ranger Megaforce Gosei Great Megazord

Based of the Goseigers mechs, Power Ranger Megaforce Gosei Great Megazord is the adaptation of the Japan's Gosei Great.
Currently not released in Singapore, the Megaforce line will be due to be release in May 2013, I got mine through a good friend on Instagram.
I'm not going to do a review on the zords or the combined megazord but this time, I will talk more on the pros and cons of the American release version of Gosei great and the mods that will make the figure better.
First up the Red Dragon Mechazord, the paintwork on the American release is definitely inferior to the Japan released. So painting and adding details will make your set alot cooler.
The rest of the mechazords are lacking details too, here's a pic of the shark, phoenix, snake and sabretooth tiger.

The megazord's head is lacking quite a number of details too, inked in details on the face and added eyeliner on the eyes to make the eyes pop more.

Black washed the crest piece and belt piece to make it look more metalic.

Detailed the tail with silver sharpy and yes i don't have a gold one. The next thing to mod is the flimsy shaky connector joint pieces on the waist and shoulders.
The bad news is it takes abit of work, like dismantling the red dragon mechazord and layering out a few coats of nail polish on the connector pieces.

After all the mods, you have yourself a better Gosei Great Megazord, though not as good as the Japan version, this set is a Gosei great alternative. Price point is alot cheaper and lacks quite a number of detailed paint work with a quite a huge size difference. The zord bulder ports also allows for interaction with all Samurai zords for more play value.

S.I.C customs Part 2

Yeap, more superb customizing from Mr Henry aka hwong40k once again.
Check these pics out.

Straight out of the Hibiki Movie, here's a SIC Masked Rider Hibiki Warring State 7 Sword version (using a regular hibiki body, recoloured and retooled with parts from a certain Spawn figure)

SIC Masked Rider Leo-Taiga Survive mode (using a SIC Masked Rider Taiga body) pictured with Taiga for comparison.

Stay tuned for more cool customizations.....

Transformers DOTM Voyager class Sentinel Prime

Since I'm taking some time off for the Chinese New Year, I have lotsa time to spare. Anyways, remember after watching Transformers DOTM movie, there was a few new characters that everybody was dying to get a hold off. For me, firstly it was Shockwave and second it has to be Sentinel Prime.

Though there was a leader class version of Sentinel Prime with accuurate blade weapon and shield, I still decided to get the voyager class one, mainly due to size. The bad news is the voyager class version lacks the blades and shield.

So I decided to give my Sentinel Prime a shield and blade.
This is really quite simple, the shield is just the claw armor plate of a Zoids Genobreaker while the blades are just Transformers United's Drift's twin blades. All it needs now is a nice silver paint job.

Viola! You have a Sentinel Prime with weapons although I would like it more if the shield was a tad smaller but it doesn't look that bad. As for the double blades, the peg fits on each fists nicely but for them to get into the fists holes underneath the fists, some filing on the handles of the swords would help.

There's no way to store the sheild but for the blades, any of the mech tech ports are quite useful, for me, I put on both sides of the mech tech weapon.

With a weaponised Sentinel Prime, he's ready to do battle with Optimus or gut Ironhide....or wreck anybody who opposes his will to save his kind......or even Megatron......what an ending that will be.....

Transformers DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime with blades?

During the mid-autumn sale at departmental store OG, I stumble upon a big box at the toy section, it was huge, it was alluring, it was Optimus Prime, Ultimate Optimus Prime to be exact. Though never appearing in the movie, the sheer size was quite attractive and with the sale price what more can a geek ask for.

Not a bad figure with exceptions to the Optimus Prime's arms transformation, this is a nice rendition of the movie verse Optimus. Figure aside, given the fact that the trailer transforms into a huge armor armament for Prime and a giant cannon, there is another issue about this toy is the lack of weapons for the Optimus Prime cab.

Well, I decided to give mine a upgrade, taking the mech tech weapon from the deluxe DOTM Optimus Prime and customizing blades from Zoids Genobreaker (shown on top) and the blades (below)

The blades are easy to custom, just file down the pegs as it's too big go into any mech tech ports then cut blades into the desired shape. Do take note, don't sqeeze the pegs into Prime before you file it down, if not, you might crack and cause stress marks on the pegholes.
When finished, you have an Optimus Prime ready for battle.

As for storage in robot mode, I prefer it to be on the back as the back transformations covers the blades really well.

In vehicle mode, I guess just peg them to the sides, the other positions look abit awkward.

The blade can be pegged on the deluxe prime too!

ROTF N.E.S.T Ironhide

I know most of my friend's ask me too, why not the original Black Ironhide, I do have a Deluxe Ironhide in original colours. It seems that black covers all the details on the figure unless viewed in closeup or with really nice light coloured highlights, the N.E.S.T version really is a better choice in terms of figure-wise, being grey the details are much more visible, the head, arms and legs are still black though and the only downside is the new weapon, a giant Gatling gun, don't get me wrong, BFGs are good but only one? It would be cool to have 2 BFGs.

Hi, once again, this time, I gotten myself an Voyager class Ironhide from N.E.S.T line added some reprolabels Autobot insignia and swopped the head. (Apologys for the low quality pictures, cam still doesn't work right) So I got a cheap clearance Fast action Battlers Ironhide which has a head sculpt I prefer more, unscrew the head, remove the ball joint connector and pop the head on the body, now there's a Ironhide to be happy about.

 Original Ironhide head (top)

Fast Action Battler Ironhide (right)

A real simple modification to beef up your Ironhide, the remaining head fits on FAB Ironhide but kinda hinders transformation. Next up, I'm gonna get more  GUNS for Ironhide...till next time....
