TFX-04 Protector

It's been awhile since I last posted, since then, I was thinking of posting all the older toys first though I know I won't have time to keep up.
The other thing is my camera is out of order, permanently, so the pictures aren't as good as it use to be. Till I get a nice new camera, the pics were taken with a crappy handphone camera which is bad but not entirely.

This is one of them I missed maybe due to the sheer awesomeness, I plainly forgot, now here's a look at Fansproject TFX-04 Protector.
Upgrade addon kit for Classics/Henkei Hot Rod.

The protector is much as same as the previous releases (city commander, DIA commander), similar box design but in Red.
When you first open the box, protector is transformed into trailer mode. I don't have a classics Hot Rod but I do have the Challenge of Cybertron Hot Rod thus all the pictures are based on this version of Hot Rod.

The colour scheme really matches more with the Hasbro's Classic Hot Rod/ Rodimus then this 3pack one.
Transformation works on any Hot Rod if you dun mind the colour scheme.

The protector trailer also forms add-on armor to make Hot Rod become Rodimus Prime.

Transformation is easy and really crisps no loose parts or mismatched parts, much similar to previous releases by Fansproject, armor clips-on easily and accurately.

After transformation, you get a taller, more anime-accurate Rodimus Prime, now this is an update of the classic Rodimus we all know and love.
Poseabilty of the Protector uses all of Hot Rods existing articulation with new additions on the arms.

The remaining trailer also transforms into a battle cannon/base much similar to the vintage Rodimus Prime.
And the trailer also houses a small 6 wheeled roller-like vehicle which could carry weapons and roll around.

DC Superheroes Gotham City villains The Penguin

Its either you hate him or love him, yes, from the depths of Gotham's underworld, The Penguin, although shadowed by infamous Joker for many years, The Penguin was one of Batman's classic foes.
After work, I had some spare time, so picked this up from some second-hand shop, with banged up box, this penguin seemed unwanted.

I wasn't disappointed at all, only due to the fact, he had his body painted white to mimick his smart shirt. New sculpt for the body and legs was the plus points of the figure. The lack of details on the costume are the minus points.

Well, they gave us 2 nicely painted plastic penguins too, so it isn't half as bad. Maybe one day, with the left over guns or missiles, I might revamp the oversized birds ala Batman returns.
The figure still looks great in display, as for poses, that's as much as I can do for now. The coat doesn't really cover the belly, I used a black rubber band to secure it, maybe a button should be there to secure it. Penguin really needs a tailor.

Well, that's all for now till next time....waugh waugh....

C307 Ginrai & C309 God Bomber

One of my childhood toys, here's another blast from the past and yes, it's another transformer, affectionately known as Powermaster Optimus Prime, the Japanese animation Super God master force was the first to hit me, so I would still prefer the Japanese name, Super Ginrai or Jinrai.

Being reissued in 2002, I still got my hands on a vintage set though the reissue is much more cheaper these days.
The set is not that rare as to say the other rare ones (to me it has to be Liokaiser which I'm still trying to find) but this Prime hit me in the sentimental way, due to fact it was the very first robot my dad got for me.
Ok sentiments aside, here's the box of both of them.
First up, Ginrai.

And God Bomber

The box has a real retro feel, the bio card, tech specs and the red tech spec reader, makes me feel like Im a kid again....
Next up, opening the toy, here's Optimus Prime which looks much similar to the G1 Prime but the transformation slightly differs. This version still has diecast parts.

Now for the trailer which transforms into a base and also merges with Optimus to form his powerup mode.

And we can't forget Godbomber....the only thing I don't like about him, is he's a parts former, those robots you have to disassemble to transform, the only thing great, is he merges with Ginrai to form God Ginrai.

And of course, the merging of all of them together, Super God Ginrai.

With Junkion Blacksmith's JB-01 Justice leader, which transforms into an Optimus prime head, making him a powermaster and a headmaster!!

Well that's it for now, until then, till all are one...

Brave Series Guardion

Takara struck a cooperative deal with the animation studio Sunrise (known for its mecha series, most notably Gundam) to develop a new franchise and set of toy lines. The franchise, in fact, would play a key role in the reintroduction of the Super Robot genre to the Japanese mainstream in the 1990s. Before Brave Gaogaigar, there was many other brave series robots.

From the vintage animation series "Brave of the Sun Fighbird." Here's one of the combiners from the series. Bad news, I don't have a complete set, Im still in search of Guard Wing so currently I can't merge to form Super Guardion.

The basic components to form Guardion:
All three of these cars transform into individual robots and also merge and form Guardion
Guard Star: Police car

Guard Fire: Fire engine

 Guard Rescue : Ambulance

The robot modes are pretty basic with minimal articulation much like most vintage robots.

Guardion stands roughly 12 inches tall when combined, what I disliked, is Guardion lacks guns or weapons or worse still, maybe mine is lacking the guns or weapons.

Guardion is made up the 3 robots, the headsculpt is much like Optimus Prime with a twist.

I hope Guardwing flys my way, wish me luck.....plenty of luck.....please god...please god....
